Monitoring visit of the Jaffna youth teams.
We were able to visit JAFFNA youth monitoring. We were able to meet at one of the villages a youth group and district youth leaders members. There were able to discuss the expectations of the youth groups, and we could able to monitored youth project activities.

Ampara District Youth training program on Conflict Resolution, Ethnic Identities, Sustainable Peace and Reconciliation
Expressing his views, Mohomad Sabreen, a participant of the Ampara
District Youth training program on Conflict Resolution, Ethnic
Identities, Sustainable Peace and Reconciliation said that,
The competition between children under the theme of "I am the best
child in the school" make discrimination among children and negatively
influencing for the development of humanity. Instead of developing
understanding among different religions, it leads to develop
misunderstanding among children.
The program was held in SWOAD
premises Akkarapaththu, Ampara, with the participation of 18 young male
and female, representing Islamic, Hindu, and Buddhist religious
communities, on 13th and 14th of August 2019.
Ampara was the fifth
destination of the trainer's group to educate youth. Ampara District
Fisheries Solidarity (DIFSO) coordinates the program.

NAFSO had launched tree planting campaign in it's environment justice
program under Youth Movement for Environment and Social Justice.
Southern Fisheries Organization at Matara continue their tree planting
activities among youth and children in Nilwella village.
L.Y. Wasantha, said at the plant distribution program, "We are sure, the children would only plant trees, but also definitely take care of their sustenance. So, we hand over the responsibility to youth for tree planting campaign in our youth societies. We will implement the monitoring activities among those youth societies in Nilwella."

AGM of YMESOC
Youth
Movement for Environment and Social Change(YMESOC) conducted it’s
Annual General Meeting at Kamatha, Keeriyankalliya, Puttlam with 65
committee members from 13 districts. “We did reflect our past year work
plan as we conducted among youth and as well as we did plan for the year
2019.” Laksiri Fernando, Youth Coordinator, NAFSO.
“We will conduct an excursion at Dolukanda hill by end of December 2018, and will declare Dolukanda national declaration based on environment, future of youth and development. This will be extended up to global declaration at Diyathalawa by 2019,” Said Ajith Rupasonghe, the founder of “Mihimawage Daruwo” Environmental Organization.

Disaster Risk Mitigation & Reduction Program
Youth Movement of NAFSO -YMESOC conduct 3 day Disaster Risk Mitigation
& Reduction Program at Kala Oya (8-10/08/2018). The main aim is to prepare a plan
for community based Disaster Mitigation & Disaster Risk Reduction
Program.
Pradeep Laksiri, the Youth Coordinator of NAFSO said at the inauguration, “if we had known about the tsunami, we would have reduced the number of deaths as we would not go to demarcate land in the sea during the sea evacuate. We were not aware and prepared for disaster mitigation and Management at the time of tsunami. So it is important we get ready with a DRRM plan.”
Youth members of YMESOC and the activists joined the training from 14 districts to the training.

ශ්රී ලංකාව ස්වාභාවික විපත්වලින් අධි අවදානම් රටවල් අතරින් ලෝකයෙන්ම හතරවන ස්ථානය දිනා ගනී…
ගෝලීය දේශගුණ අවදානම් දර්ශකය (Global Climate Risk Index) මගින් 2018
වසර සඳහා නිකුත් කොට ඇති වාර්තාව මගින් ශ්රී ලංකාව ස්වාභාවික විපත්වලින්
අධි අවදානම් සහිත රටවල් අතරින් හතරවන ස්ථානයේ පසුවන බව පෙන්වා දී තිබේ.එම වාර්තාවේ පළමු ස්ථානය හයිටි දිවයින හිමිකරගෙන සිටින අතර පිළිවෙළින් සිම්බාබ්වේ සහ ෆීජී යන රටවල් දවෛනි තුන්වෙනි ස්ථාන හිමිකර ගෙන සිටී.
1997 සිට 2016 දක්වා වූ කාලගුණ දත්ත විශ්ලේෂණය කරමින් මෙකී වාර්තාව සකසන අතර 2016 වසරේ නිකුත් කළ මෙවැනිම වාර්තාවක් විසින් ශ්රී ලංකාව 95 වෙනි ස්ථානයට ලැයිස්තුගතව තිබුණි. එහෙත් ඉන්පසු සිදුවූ ස්වාභාවික විපත් සහ ඒවායෙන් සිදුවූ හානි නිසා ශ්රී ලංකාවේ තත්ත්වය සිව්වන ස්ථානය දක්වා ඉහළ නැග තිබේ.
ඊට හේතුව ලෙස මෙම වාර්තාව දැක්වනුයේ ශ්රී ලංකාව, ෆීජි, වියට්නාමය වැනි රටවල් ඉතා අඩුකාල පරාසයක් තුළ ස්වාභාවික විපත් රැසකට මුහුණ දීම මෙම තත්ත්වයට හේතු වී ඇති බවයි.
සිම්බාබ්වේ දේශය දිගුකාලීන නියඟයකට මුහුණ දෙමින් සිටිම එම රට මෙම දර්ශකයේ දවෛනි ස්ථානය පත්වීමට හේතු වී තිබේ.
ඊට අමතරව සංවර්ධිත රටවලට සාපේක්ෂව ඌන සංවර්ධිත රටවල්වලට ස්වාභාවික විපත්වලින් දැඩි අවදානමක් උද්ගතව තිබෙන බවද මෙම වාර්තාව පවසයි. එමෙන්ම ගෝලීය උණුසුම ඉහළ යෑම සහ දේශගුණ විපර්යාස නිසා ස්වාභාවික විපත් ශීඝ්රයෙන් ඉහළ යා හැකි බවත්, ශ්රී ලංකාව, හයිටි, ෆීජි වැනි දූපත් රාජ්යවල පැවැත්මට ඒවා දැඩිව බලපානු ඇති බවත් එම වාර්තාව පෙන්වා දෙයි.

Reaserch Training for Youth on Social and Economical Analysis
Research Training for youth on social and Economical Analysis to identity community hazards and vulnerabilities and resources vis-à-vis climate Change on the fisher’s resources and fisher Community. This training conducted on Using, Participatory Rural Appraisal (P.R.A) was conducted at Kings Bay Hotel in Negombo for the youths. 45 participated from 15th District,at the three days Training Mr.Gamini Wikramanayaka and Anthoney Jesudasan moderated the training.
